This magnificent antique Paste Stone dropper brooch is Victorian Circa 1900.
The grand piece boasts decorative engraved workmanship with three purple Paste Stones running across the central gallery.
Paste is a heavy, transparent flint glass that simulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones. Purple Pastes sparkle just like Amethyst’s and take expert craftsmanship to capture their beauty.
Attached to the main gallery is a fabulous dropper complete with a Paste Stone dangling from two golden chains.
The brooch is set in 18ct Yellow Gold on Pinchbeck and fitted with a sturdy pin and catch.
A few solder patches are visible on the reverse but this is minimal wear for such an old brooch.
This truly is a stunning piece of antique history and highly collectable!
